After structuring a small telephone exchange at Ericsson as my thesis work to complete my M.Sc. in 1982, I joined the design team of the first version of the APZ 212 architecture, the central processor of AXE. I designed a part of the communication subsystem (RPH) between AXE's central processor (CP) and its regional processors (RP). The APZ 212 architecture remained the high-end central processor of the AXE telephone exchange system and has been re-implemented in new technologies ever since.
