Subject: [Announce] Version 1.2 of x86 performance counters driver

Version 1.2 of my x86 performance-monitoring counters driver is
now available at http://www.csd.uu.se/~mikpe/linux/perfctr/.

Summary of changes since version 1.1:
- Updated patches for kernels 2.2.16pre4 and 2.3.99-pre9-5.
- Added support for generic x86 processors with a time-stamp counter
  but no performance-monitoring counters. By using the driver to
  virtualise the TSC, accurate cycle-count measurements are now
  possible on PMC-less processors like the AMD K6.
- Fixed a bug in the WinChip driver.
- Miscellaneous code cleanups.
