Hi, I'm Johan Östlund.
I'm a PhD student here at Uppsala University. Before coming here I did my MSc at DSV/Stockholm University. I also worked there as a full-time teacher for a couple of years. In 2008 I went to the US to pursue my PhD, more specifically at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. My advisor was Jan Vitek. After two years I decided to go back to Sweden. I applied for a PhD position here in Uppsala and was accepted. I've been here since January 2010. My advisors here at Uppsala are Tobias Wrigstad and Bengt Jonsson. My interest is primarily in programming languages, and in particular type systems. Have a look at my publications page to learn more.
