Goal

The goal is to give an overview of fundamental methods and concepts of computerised image analysis, directed towards the knowledge necessary for using such methods in different applications, especially remote sensing.

Content

Digital images, imaging, storage, presentation (image representation, digitisation, resolution, sampling)
Image processing, image-to-image (filtering, restoration, geometric correction, enhancement, compression)
Multispectral images (colour, classification)
Image analysis, image-to-feature (segmentation, feature extraction, regions, binary images, multivariate images, classification, digital geometry, binary shape)
Image analysis, image-to-information (measurements, pattern recognition, decision models)

Written exam approximately 2 weeks after the course. Can be written at your home department.

RESE graduate students are guaranteed a place. Registration of "externals" will be handled on a first-come first-served basis.
