The goal of this document is to help remedy the wireless connection problem 'No internet, secured' on an ASUS E502SA Notebook.
- 'Control Panel' | 'Device Manager'.
- Expand 'Network adapters'.
- Look for an adapter with 'Wireless LAN' or 'WiFi' or 'WLAN' in its name.
- Right-click on it, select 'Properties'.
- Click 'Advanced'.
- Select 'Bandwidth', and change the value to '20MHz Only'.
- Click 'OK'. You should now be able to ping your router.
An alternative - possibly more generic? - way to do the same thing.
- 'Control Panel' | 'Network and Sharing Centre'.
- Click 'Change adapter settings'.
- Right-click on 'WiFi', select 'Properties'.
- Click 'Configure...'.
- Click 'Advanced'.
- Select 'Bandwidth', and change the value to '20MHz Only'.
- Click 'OK'. You should now be able to ping your router and any site.
Oddly enough, if you reset 'Bandwidth' to '20_40MHz', chances are that your WiFi will still work. But better not count on it!
