Laboratories

Laboratories for the course will involve one exercise that needs to be completed soon after the laboratory session on traffic snooping. The remaining laboratory exercises are programming problems which provide practical experience with the implementation of client server applications using TCP and UDP.

All laborations are conducted in groups of two persons.

Assessment

The course will be assessed using assignments, laboratory work and an examination.
I have created some sample examination style questions for you to use as you revise and study for the exam. You can also use the questions in the textbook at the end of each chapter to test your knowledge.

The examinations used for Datorsystem II (Datakommunikation) and DVP Datakom are rather similar in content and can form a good basis for revision for courses offered in these subjects. The grading scheme for this course will be determined form the points gained on the examination.

NO bonus points will be given in association with the submission of laboratory work.

Grades will be allocated on the basis of the total number of points accrued on the exam by a student, with grades allocated as follows.

Points Range Meaning
0 - 54 Unsatisfactory
55 - 69 Pass
70 - 85 Pass with Distinction
