Solving elliptic PDEs using integral equation methods

Abstract:

Integral equation methods are, when they apply, a powerful tool for solving elliptic PDEs, achieving high accuracy rapidly. We will look at a couple of problem settings in 2D where integral equation methods pay off, and at some previous shortcomings of such methods that have been resolved in the last couple of years.
