A stochastic model for peer-to-peer networks

Abstract:

This will be a review of recent work in modelling bit-torrent like networks. Based on some natural assumptions, we construct a highly-dimensional Markov chain and then prove its convergence to an ordinary differential equation. This is joint work with George Kesidis (Penn State), Perla Sousi (Cambridge) and Oswald Fogelklou (Uppsala).
