The Diploma Thesis

Category of Diploma Thesis:

·  Science/Technology

Field of Study of the Applicant:

·  Computer science

Description of the Topic:

Adhoc networks are currently the main research area for IP routing protocols. In contrast to earlier routing protocols, such as OSPF and BGP, the adhoc routing protocols can cope with highly mobile nodes and a varying degree of infrastructure. The task of the master thesis is to implement the AODV (Adhoc On-demand Distance Vector) routing protocol on OpenBSD and propose route propagation algorithms towards existing infrastructures such as OSPF and BGP. The master thesis will include extensive studies of IETF RFCs and internet-drafts on AODV, OSPF and BGP, implementation aspects into an OpenBSD environment, and rules and structures for routing policy management.
