This is an update for the benefit of PAPI users.

Version 2.4.9, 2003-06-09
- Patch kit updates for recent RedHat 9/8.0/7.x/6.2 kernels
  (2.4.20-18, 2.4.20-13, 2.2.24-{7.0.3,6.2.3}), and standard
  kernel 2.4.21-rc7.
- Patch maintenance simplified: 'update-kernel' supports patch
  aliases, and the driver works with perfctr-2.5 patches.
- Driver fixes backported from perfctr-2.5.4:
  * P4 OVF_PMI+FORCE_OVF counters must use an ireset value of -1.
  * Eliminate redundant APIC write in P4 context-switch path.
  * Comment in <asm-i386/perfctr.h> corrected to state that
    ireset[] values must be "< 0" not "<= 0".
