Abstract:

Computational analyses are commonly used within biomaterials and biomechanics research, often in the form of image or finite element analysis. This will here be exemplified as applied to bone fracture treatment. Bone fractures are increasing as a result of the ageing population, and treatment may be problematic in elderly, poor-quality bone. A more systematic approach to evaluating and improving treatments will be introduced, where computational analyses are heavily used.
