Abstract:

In the talk, I will present different models where I describe the kinetics of blood coagulation and the dynamics of thrombus formation under flow. I will analyze these models analytically and numerically.

Then, I will investigate the interactions between blood clotting disorders and various pathologies such as rheumatoid arthritis, HIV, and cancer. The dynamics of some of these pathologies will be described using hybrid discrete-continuous models. In the end end, I will explore some clinical applications such as the development of individualized blood coagulation models to predict the the response of patients to anticoagulant therapy.
