Frederik Hermans
I am a third-year PhD student in the Communication Research group at the department of Information Technology at Uppsala University, Sweden. My supervisors are Per Gunningberg and Edith Ngai. I graduated from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, in November 2009 with the title Diplom-Informatiker, which roughly translates to a Master's degree. My supervisors were Jochen Schiller and Norman Dziengel.
I am interested in wireless sensor networks, information-centric network architectures, and the intersection of these two fields. My overarching question is whether (and how) we can use content-aware networks to provide better service to challenged nodes—e.g., nodes that are mobile, resource-constrained, or poorly connected.
