Axel Målqvist Assistant Professor Division of Scientific Computing Department of Information Technology Uppsala University I am an assistant professor in scientific computing at Uppsala University. My area of research is numerical solution of partial differential equations. In particular I am interested in multiscale problems, where the solution varies over several different scales, and multiphysics problems where several physical processes are active at the same time. Typical applications include porous media flow and composite materials. I develop efficient algorithms for solving these problems together with error estimates that can be used to drive adaptive tuning of critical method parameters in order to decrease the error. My research is funded by The Göran Gustafsson foundation.
